Back in the Running

Yesterday did indeed mark the ‘big changeover’. My brother, Jerry, as usual made it seem ridiculously easy (who would have thought changing out an harddrive could be so simple?). Next time, I will know what to do. Of course, it’s all the other stuff you have to do afterward that takes the most time.
But as [...]

Priming the Pump

I’m in a better frame of mind today. The new hard drive is being put into the computer tomorrow. My week of forced non-productivity is nearly at an end.
With that thought in mind, I’m going to resurrect the old agenda list, and add the more immediate additions to the top so that we can see [...]

Hang in there

I’ve noticed, even in the midst of all that is occupying my mind at the moment, that readership of this blog has dropped like a rock. Maybe I’m just boring. . . lol. . . but I’m more inclined to believe that at the moment the content is just too depressing for many (especially since [...]

This is Publishing.

I’m sick of blogging about my computer woes. It’s boring to me and I imagine it’s boring to you. I want to move on, blog about what we’re doing, what’s coming up, get my momentum built up and going again. Instead, I’m resolving computer issues, such as:

Why is it that even when you back-up that [...]

So–what have we learned?

I hope that this blog is appearing in it’s proper place and not wwwaaaayyy down the page. It’s appearing in the proper place when I view it, but one thing I have learned (even prior to this) is that every computer’s browser, monitor and configuration settings are different and what I’m seeing on my screen [...]

Melt down—Argh!

September 13, 2007 marked the great WordPress melt down. I had little idea that it was just a small harbinger of what was to come.
September 23 (running every ten days here, I hope this isn’t the start of a trend) marked the great hard drive melt down, as in the entire computer went kaputz.
The long [...]

The first one is up! and, A hearty thanks to Small Town Life & Business News.

As I had mentioned in my agenda list, I wanted to add a new feature to the Double Edge Press site. The feature is a link to allow you to read the first three chapters of our books on-line for free. Well, the first one is up, after several hours of work:
Read first 3 Chapters! In [...]

The progress of a Cover and Neal’s Irksome Corner

If you skim down the right hand column of this blog you’ll find the books that Double Edge Press currently has released. One of these covers is due to change in the near future: Conviction: a sequel to Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice by Skylar Hamilton Burris.
Dave Shuck, who has reworked two of our covers [...]

New Review and ‘It’s Official’.

Good morning all.
I finished David Meerman Scott’s The New Rules of Marketing & PR: How to Use News Releases, Blogs, Podcasting, Viral Marketing & OnLine Media to Reach Buyers Directly (that’s a mouthful) last night.
For the full review, click here.
I’ll report on some of his suggestions as I use them.
In other news: ‘It’s Official’.
If you’ve been [...]

Agenda List – updated

If you’ve been following along, here’s the updated list. Those items that are completed are crossed off. I’ve added some new items at the bottom:

Work up the ’something-something’ for subscribers that I alluded to previously. I thought of something, and it’s a goody, especially for those interested in moving into publishing, self or otherwise. I [...]
