First of all, I’m happy to say that as of now, as a business, we are fine. We work on a cash basis and have no debts. On a personal level, we pulled half of our stock portfolio out a month ago.
Bear in mind that we pulled our money after a series of events that [...]

My last post was about why I sometimes resent publishing.
Then again, there is something immensely satisfying waking up in the morning and knowing that my work ahead for the day is putting out books. I don’t think it was so much my choice as my calling.
For those interested, here’s my latest op-ed on the Women for [...]

There are very few titles that I can pick up without instantly being aware of problems with the plot, [...]

Editing on An Unlikely Missionary is at an end. Thank you, Skylar Burris for a wonderfully clean manuscript to work with, and thank you for a really great story. You set a high standard with Conviction, but you not only met it, but surpassed it.

(Kudo’s to Jeff Foxworthy who began the whole ‘You Might be a Redneck. . .’ in his comedy act).
You might be a Redneck if you buy a shed to store your unbuilt shed in.
Yes. You read that correctly.
Two (maybe three) years ago, we bought a shed. Frugal as I always am (my husband terms it [...]

Today, after reading several letters in our local paper bashing Sarah Palin on the grounds that she was abandoning her family for the sake of ambition, I was moved to write a letter to the editor myself.
Now, bear in mind, that if I had seen any letters supporting Governor Palin, I would have happily kept my thoughts [...]

If you’ve read my blog over the past several days, you’be been treated (or subjected) to my enthusiasm for the new VP pick on the Rep ticket.
Nice.
But there’s more to my enthusiasm than seeing a woman of about my age (she’s one year older) with a passel of kids (she has five, I have four), [...]
